Hello, this is probably a pretty simple question but, when performing gamma spectroscopy on natural uranium ore specimens, why do we look for the decay daughters of uranium vs the uranium itself. Might I ask where you acquire the rather large polonium 210 source. I watched carl wilis' video on his Po/Be source and clicked the link in the description but I am not sure if it is available for civilians to purchase. Sorry if this thread is a bit old to post on.
