Re: Simple turbo pump controller

<t>Hi,<br/> <br/> I finally finished a pumping station based on Alexi’s controller and a TPH-055 purchased off of EBay. All of the vacuum fittings are from Lesker’s; the main gauge in the system is an MKS-901P which bottoms out at 10-5 mTorr (also another snag off of EBay). The gauge bottoms out abo...

Robinair Pump KNF Inlet Fitting

<t>Hi,<br/> I have a Robinair 15600 air-conditioning service pump that I use as a roughing pump on the fore line of my diffusion pump setup. I would like to replace the kludge of for line connection(s) that I currently use with a real KNF fitting of some sort.<br/> Has anyone else done with a purcha...

Re: Nice PIG Ion Source Example, for "Homebrew"

Thanks for posting this! It looks like it would be simple to build and useful for a number of different projects here.

Re: Is this the right pump forStar Mode

<r>The small Edwards diff pump in the picture below was picked up on Ebay for ~$200.00, it pumps down fast in about three minutes to below 10-5 torr and would be a good pump to consider as Fusor chamber high-vac pump.<br/> Glenn <br/> <br/> <URL url="http://www.fusor.net/board/viewtopic.php?f=25&...

Re: FAQ - Mechanical Pump - Diffusion pump?

John,
If you look carefully at the back of the picture that I posted you will see a 2.75 in fan on the back of the diffusion pump.

Re: FAQ - Mechanical Pump - Diffusion pump?

<t>Hi,<br/> Attached is a picture of a small air cooled diffusion pump system that I put together over the last year and a half with most of the ‘big ticket’ items from EBay, the rest of the vacuum fittings are from Lesker’s. This is an illustration of what Richard discusses in his FAQ and what can ...

Re: Accelerator column

<t>Hi,<br/> The attached file describes a simple ion source that is similar to what was used on the original Amateur Scientist article in 1971. It was built by a group of students that modeled what they built loosely based on that article. Would this type of design be suitable for use with the accel...

Re: Accelerator column

<t>Hi,<br/> I was wondering if anyone had done anything more with the concept that George came up with for a low cost accelerator column since this thread was originally posted?<br/> <br/> Questions that come to mind are:<br/> <br/> -- The first stage would probably need a variable resistor to focus...

<r>Below is the link from DigiKey for a IRL520NPBF logic driven MOSFET that should work well also as a replacement part. The current price for qty1-9 is $1.24. The data sheet can also be downloaded from the link below.<br/> Glenn <br/> <br/> <URL url="http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus...
