Re: Ludlum Model 12 Manual

Cosmetically pretty similar to the manual they sent me. I wonder why they omitted the diagram on the one on their website that specifically refers to one? All they told me was "send us the serial number and we'll send you the correct manual". No mention of the missing diagram.

Ludlum Model 12 Manual

Ludlum provided me with this manual. It has some specific info for the types of 12s commonly found on ebay thats more in depth than the one on their website

Re: John Beutz Fusor... The Story so Far

Tested the XRT with my grandpa and an engineer from Xcel energy who works on the power lines and transfer stations today. One secondary is grounded to my metal fusor frame, and the other is attached to house ground through to variac, We confirmed AC input from the variac, and no shorts on the transf...

Tubing. May cut to smaller length and use two kf25 elbows in the line if I get a new pump, which seems likely.

Re: Adjusting HV on Ludlum 12

Yes, I asked this question mainly because of the missing page, and my own ignorance of the device and forum procedures. If I can figure out how, I'll delete this post because I also asked it in my other thread (which was also the wrong place for such a question).

Whelp. It was right there.
Thank you! I need to get my simple investigative skills checked. What would I do without the internet, I wonder.

Adjusting HV on Ludlum 12

I bought a ratemeter without looking closely at whether its HV was adjustable. It is stuck at around 860V. Is there any real way to change the output to 1600V (for my BF3 tube), or, alternatively, use some another power supply for the tube and still use the ratemeter to get a signal from neutrons? M...

Re: John Beutz Fusor... The Story so Far

Alright. I'm going to replace the bucket it's in now with a larger container since the resistor won't fit. Plus that gives me more space for diodes and a resistor chain for voltage measurement

Re: John Beutz Fusor... The Story so Far

Resistor I may use as a ballast. It has a hole through the center and is about 15cm long
