Re: Farnsworth ITT history - a bit more

Oh, thank you, Richard. About the transparent ion gun components incident: There are transparent alumina ceramics. Could opaque alumina insulation parts turn transparent when exposed to heat and radiation? It sounds like you are talking about something more weird than that, to spook experienced peop...

Re: High resolution images from Farnsworth archive

Here is the Google drive location of the images, from the Marriott Library, Salt Lake City archive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/182YXWeZMmn7OqTc5X997DU_twBZ5VjE2 The directory is called "PO437" - this is the name of the Marriott library archive. Some of the images are almost ridiculously ...

Re: Going Out On A Limb

I look at the history of the fusor, and ask myself "What is wrong with this picture?". What is wrong of course is that the AEC did not pick up the fusor and fully investigate the idea, I think. We should have seen a portion of the government fusion budget going into fusors - millions of dollars per ...

Re: High resolution images from Farnsworth archive

The notebooks seem to be full of images I have not seen before, likely from the polaroid camera you mention. The library staff there is willing to scan material, if you know what to ask for and pay them something like 10 cents a scan. I will clean up my index spreadsheet of the collection and put it...

Re: Going Out On A Limb

Here is the URL for the drive with the rest of the scans: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Wo7e1Id5_F0eeVVo8GUB-F5WwzWe-82K Most of the scanned files are oriented properly. I will keep working with them, cropping and orienting them correctly. I'm still reading through all this stuff, myself. ...

Re: Going Out On A Limb

Oh, that's really interesting, Richard. I have all the stuff I gathered uploaded to the Google drive now. I'm working on the permissions so that I can share it with other people, and of course would be glad to share it with you. All of those personal interviews you have are fascinating. Here is the ...

Re: High resolution images from Farnsworth archive

Oh, great, thanks Richard. Let's try that again: P0437n01_13_003L.jpg I reduced the image in size and went to grayscale to reduce the file size. I'm trying to set up a Google Drive with the info gathered at the Mariott library Farnsworth Archive on it. There is a lot of info - technical papers, corr...
