Things to consider when buying an oil mist remover?

I have an Alcatel 2010 vacuum pump. Now, I want an oil mist remover, since I use the pump in a confined space. Can I just buy a cheap one on eBay for 60 dollars? The throughput of the pump will be relatively modest, and within the specifications of the filter on the picture. I think. Or is it necess...

About high voltage boost converters...

Hullo everyone! Anyone sick yet? With Corona? About the boost converters. They are sold cheaply on eBay. Now, I just want to ask if someone knows if the output from them is always pulsed? If you connect one of them to an oscilloscope, what would the output look like? Is the peak voltage as high as a...

Where to buy a glass tube for vacuum chamber?

Where can I buy a glass tube for a vacuum chamber. 3-4 inches in diameter and strong enough so that it doesn't implode. I want glass not plastic. Can it be ordered on the Internet at a reasonable price?

Re: Questions about plasma physics and Fusors...

No answers from Richard Hull or John Futter? They are knowledgeable usually and forthcoming also... Should be interesting with some input on the questions I have asked.

Best Regards,

Sven

Questions about plasma physics and Fusors...

Hullo, I have a couple of Q's about plasma physics and Fusors; How high is the density inside the plasma ball inside the inner grid in a Fusor? Screenshot - 2019-09-01 , 18_32_28.jpg What does it consist of? Deuterons and electrons? How high a pressure can you use and still get a plasma ball, with a...

Re: Looking for input on plasma diagnostics...

If you just want to know the total temperature, I don't think an Ocean Optics Spectrometer is really necessary. I mean, nowadays you can just point an IR-thermometer to a wall an read off the temp. That's what I'm after, only for much higher temps! And then a Langmuir probe to get the electron temp ...

Re: Looking for input on plasma diagnostics...

Here I'm answering my own Q. If you have any input though that is relevant please post in this thread! Total temperature is easy to determine by just measuring the radiation the plasma gives off. Can such instruments be bought off shelf so to speak? What are they called? With a Langmuir probe electr...

Looking for input on plasma diagnostics...

I posted here looking for info on how to create a relatively dense deuterium plasma that is completely (or nearly so) dissociated. Let's say I attempt to do that with a setup that involves some sort of arc discharge. How can I know the state of this plasma? How can an amateur do plasma diagnostics? ...

Slightly OT question on high voltages and electric arcs...

Might as well come clear about what I'm trying to achieve; I want to create a cold and dense deuterium plasma (completely dissociated) and at the same time expose that plasma to a powerful electric field. This has nothing to do with how a Fusor operates, but since people here have a knowledge of stu...
