Re: Neutropn source

This is a perfect example of doing a lot of wrong things here - not that I too haven't been guilty from time to time. I assume this thread maker now uses their full and proper name (not gonna really check - not that concerned.) Next, using block quote's is not to be done - this is being violated con...

Re: Physics - the prime science of nature and nuclear physics

Physics, as some here might suspect, is in a deep crisis - the collision of Field Theory (FT) and General Relativity (GR) has created an impasse that threatens most current understandings of either topic - the former gives utter nonsense answers for many aspects of the bulk universe, while the later...

Re: My fusion setup

That doesn't look like a useful gate valve. It appears to be a fully open or closed system. One requires an adjustable gate valve to be useful for control of deuterium exhaust from chamber and chamber pressure.

Re: My fusor progress - Albert Mery

Most turbo's have little issue even at 500 microns starting pressure - leakage is the issue and whether the pump can overcome that level of gas coming into the system; that all said, I'd first upgrade the chamber before risking a turbo - sudden inrush of atmospheric pressure will bend turbo blades.

Re: Live Life Learning

Hello again and certainly that Lathe project is worth posting here too; projects like that are also related to fusion since lab apparatus related devices are important, also.

Re: Apparatus for Making a Deuterated Target

Once you pump down, you close off the system and allow the deuterium to raise the system to its desired pressure, that extra 'T' isn't going to have much an impact; calculate the total volume for "zero torr". Then the volume of gas in the syringe - I bet the amount in the syringe is well above 10 mT...

Re: Deuterium odour/smell?

No one, and mean no one should ever have any significant deuterium released in any room - deuterium, like hydrogen, has a huge range over which it explodes. The trivial amount exhausted by a vacuum pump won't pose a hazard; likely you are smelling oil vapor fumes from the pump.

Re: Live Life Learning

Welcome and e-beams have a lot of uses; could you post in the new user area some details on that setup and what you do?
