Re: Turbo Pump Problem

Its controller says that it is hitting its top speed and staying true in that regard. The pump spins and operates well, but just isn't pulling the same vacuum it used to. I don't believe that it's an issue with the chamber/inlet side because I've tried it on multiple chambers (in descending volume) ...

Turbo Pump Problem

Hey all, Currently I'm working in a vacuum/x-ray lab at my university. Attached to a large bell jar assembly was a small turbomolecular vacuum pump that recently started giving up on me. It's a Pfeiffer model TMU 071 P. I've taken it off the enormous chamber and hooked it up to a much smaller vessel...

Re: Diodes Help

So theoretically could I rectify each of the secondaries through a 50kv 1A bridge setup then combine the dc lines out?

Diodes Help

Hey, I recently acquired a 70kV dental xrt and was going to craft a homemade supply from it. I've the necessary ballast resistors and voltage/current resistors set and a massive 20A variac ready to go, but am no good with the rectification process. I've seen many successful fusors with strings of mi...

Diffusion pump flange help

So I've always been able to get by with my Edwards dual stage pump...pulls down sub micron, which is good enough for fusor work. I recently purchased a cheap air-cooled diff pump online though and want to implement it so I can achieve higher neutron counts. The problem is, I've no way to hook it up!...
