Re: Portable XRF detector window repair

Sorry my stupid mistake. Detector diameter is 12 mm. Detector is a SiPN type and electronically cools down to about -27 DegC that is why I should evacuate inside the detector casing otherwise detector tempreature will do down up to -15 DegC and device will not start working. Epoxy is good option but...

Re: Portable XRF detector window repair

use new Be foil http://www.goodfellow.com/catalogue/GFCat4.php?ewd_token=KxEs6P0aPwQ3YLzqkiKbmk2WWoP9VW&n=kiVv2zAjvMOjsSn8WpuIV2hvddblfZ BE000210 looks right. Be careful it is not good for you you need the Be foil to keep it light tight and to remove the low energy spectrum (noise) BE000210 diamete...

Re: Portable XRF detector window repair

Application is detecting low energy X-rays. I found two roll of Mylar films (12.5 and 25 micron thick) inside my old stuff which seems are made just for low energy x-ray transmission applications. I think I can use 12.5 micron one which looks the best for my case. The only think left is whether or n...

Portable XRF detector window repair

After droping Be window of our portable XRF detector is ruptured. Detector is very expensive and I am trying to fix the window. Be window thickness is about 13 micron (wow too thin). Thin papers are about 100 micron in comparision. I can purchase 13 micron custom ordered Be windows and do soldering ...

Re: Disassembling tube side HV tube conector

John,

Thank you for the reply. Sorry for fast writing and mistakes. Connector already disassembled and after soldering centre wire assembled again. Material looks is Teflon and adhesive seems is lacquer (not sure of the type).

Re: Disassembling tube side HV tube conector

As can be seen the white insulator above seems where two pieces stocked with a special HV glue during assembling. Any one know what king of glue can be used in high voltages (about 60kv)? I am planing to find the insulator and do the machining of two pieces and use HV glue to stick them together to ...

Disassembling tube side HV tube conector

I tried to disassemble our XRD diffractometer X-ray tube side connector to do some machining of the Teflon insulator to fit another tube but after removing all screws tried to pull out the cable and the connected contacts which seems are soldered to the cable. Cable came out a few mm but I realized ...

Re: LH IONIVAC IM 21 gauge controller meter turns left?

I striped the controller and tracked display meter connections. Finally I found N5558V chip draw too much current and PS 30V drops to 18V. Now I need schematic to find the problem. Anyone can help me with the Electronic schematic?

LH IONIVAC IM 21 gauge controller meter turns left?

When I turn on our Leybold IONIVAC IM 21 controller, the analog meter needle usually was turning right to show the correct pressure and slowly was moving left as pressure goes down but something happened yesterday and now when I turn on this controller needle moves to left end fast and locks there. ...
