Neutron Sources

Post by guest »

Here is a short list of neutron sources
as of the Twentyfirst Century

Isotopic Generators- Californium,Plute
Alphas into Berylium Radium, thorium x,polonium ect

Fusion
deuterons into deuterons
deuterons into tritons
radiative -gamma emitters dissasociating a deuterium atom ,x-rays too.
fission- u235,plute,u232

Spallation- 1bev hydrogen disrupts a heavier nucleus
It does this by heating up the atom until
it blows apart 50 neutrons U238
25 for lead

Hyperfission -100 Gev U238 hits another U238
a gob of alphas, about 150 neutrons
and anti protons

Antimatter - a antiproton hits a uranium atom
fission + muons +neutrons.
