MODERN INVENTIONS 1918

Post by WT536 » Thu Mar 06, 2014 12:26 am

I have a copy of the book MODERN INVENTIONS from the "ROMANCE OF REALITY" SERIES bearing an inscription which shows that it was given as a present in 1918.

It shows a television system as presented to the Roentgen Ray Society in January 1912 by Mr A A Campbell-Swinton.

The inscription reveals that this book was given to a boy. It is just the sort of book that could have been given to P Farnsworth before he "invented" electronically scanned TV in 1922. The "blackboard" drawing shows great similarity to part of the figure in the book.
