Diaphram pump question

Every fusor and fusion system seems to need a vacuum. This area is for detailed discussion of vacuum systems, materials, gauging, etc. related to fusor or fusion research.

Diaphram pump question

Post by Corby Dawson »

Hi,

I have a Varian 949-9441 MDP12 4 section diaphram pump. it is also marked Neuberger PJ10534-813.4. As far as I can tell it looks identical to the Pfeiffer MVP015-4. I need to rebuild it and I can find rebuild kits for the MVP015-4. Does anyone know if these are indeed identical pumps?

Thanks!!!

Corby

Got the info from a vendor today! The pump is identical to the MVP015-4 so I ordered a kit!

I got the kit and it went in easily.

Before the kit best vacuum was 10 Torr, after the kit it is 600 milliTorr!

The turbo pump I'm using with it requires < 3 Torr, so I'm set.

Cheers,

Corby
