Re: FAQ Issues - Fix Progress List

... Instead of you following up on the remaining posts that I suggested replacements for, I think it makes more sense for me to add a quick post to each thread with the updated URL that I found. I'm thinking this is the way it should be done in the normal course of activity, since it invites peer r...

I don't know why the color tags didn't work for you, I was able to add them inside both layers of the quotes above. Strange. F... if I know. I'm amazed any of this stuff works. I tried the archive link from two different PC's using IE, Chrome, and Firefox. I didn't have a problem with any of them. ...

Re: FAQ Issues

Any reason that phpbb can't be configured to accept .bmp image files? To my knowledge there is no malware hazard with .bmp files. Here's the party line on BMPs: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=1897565 Bottom line, the format was never intended for web use and is something of a ...

Re: FAQ Issues - Fix Progress List

I thought I'd offer a hand to give back to the site that has been so helpful to me... This is what I have so far. Please see the replacement links below in blue. They should be reviewed to make sure they are appropriate replacements. In some cases, it's not exactly clear from the URL alone what the...

Re: FAQ Issues - Fixes

Hey, ya know what? After fixing about half of the dead links you've identified here, it now dawns on me that of the remaining 404s you have identified here are links to external sites. This site (fusor.net) in its various incarnations is now almost TWENTY YEARS OLD! So it's no surprise that links th...

Re: FAQ Issues - Fix Progress List

I am reposting the list from Thomas Price's post above here so that I an keep a record of which broken FAQ links have been found and fixed. Where you see a red YYMMD number like this: [160322] – that's fixed item. 1 Vacuum Technology FAQs [160322] http://www.fusor.net/board/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=1043...

Re:(Trying to fix the) FAQ Issues (One Down!)

Thomas, Let's take these one at a time... here's #1 in your list above: 2 Just The FAQs, Ma’am http://www.fusor.net/just-the-faqs-maam/ viewforum.php?f=34 The first two coordinates are easy enough to locate. The problem is locating the third one. The link "viewforum.php?f=34" is a bit of buried HTML...

Re: FAQ Issues

Two things: 1) Thanks to Thomas Price for the clarification re: his methodology - and all for his diligence in finding and identifying those broken links. 2) Despite what Richard says, I don't believe the dislocation is due to "moving the furniture around." Yes, we did move some furniture and by and...
