Re: Integrated Lab Measuring and Controlling (Labview, Labjack, ...)

John Myers said, Micro-controllers like AVR's are terrible at accurate in-sync measurements. I don't have much experience beyond simple stuff with AVR chips. What are you getting at? The timing of measurements is hard to keep consistent or maybe there are accuracy issues with ADC? Can you be more sp...

Re: 50kV Supply

That helps. I ordered one from your ebay link even before I posted to you here. Seems worth it to check out. Good to learn there are HV / HF transformers in there. Those are not common and good ones tend to be expensive if found. At that price even the diodes and capacitors of the multiplier well la...

Re: Construction of Neutron Grade Fusor

Enzo, I just posted this in another thread http://www.fusor.net/board/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12441&start=20#p82045 The other young person I mentioned is you, so what I said applies to you too. Very nice to see some young people deep into technology and science. Real physical, measurable stuff. Good to ...

Re: My progress II

Eduardo, I didn't realize your age until I saw your pictures in your post on Wed Jan 16, 2019 That makes your approach and accumulation of very good and selected parts even more impressive. We seem to have two very young members doing very smart and good work at the same time. I have nothing specifi...

I haven't posted earlier. Just saying I'm usually pretty flexible and am monitoring to see if you guys with lives can come to a consensus. :-)

I will reply if we get close to a mutual date.

Joe -- Interesting stuff, but for this crowd, maybe a bit more cryptic than necessary. I'm fairly familiar with the circuits of a few Glassman HV supplies. Never saw this particular one (your shared ebay listing), though. In your Images du Jour post... Joe Gayo's Fusor Sun Jan 13, 2019 7:07 pm http:...

Richard, I'm curious, what method did you use when you did the silver soldering? Torch, or something else?

Re: HV Divider

If it was me, I'd stalk ebay looking for some high value, high voltage resistors, made for something like this. I like something in the 100M to 1G range and voltage rated for 10-30kv. That should be easier and more stable than a bunch of lower value R's. I've gotten a number this way over the last s...

Stop quoting the whole message you are replying to.

I'd suggest that the short-sight problem with nuclear is that we have to safely store the radioactive waste for times on the order of, or longer than, homo sapiens have existed. What could go wrong?

Re: Cleaning/Repairing Edwards E2M5

Your dirty sight glass may be a bit of a challenge. Looking at the exploded parts list there don't seem to be any parts defined in that area. It seems to be treated as part of the oil box (that's what the list calls it). It looks like the glass is attached to the box with some kind of glue. (Look cl...
